Research Interest

I am interested in social intelligence, theory of mind, emotion, and human-robot interaction. The final goal is to develop computational models of social intelligence, considering cognitive, social, and evolutionary psychology, and implement them into robotics system.

From the perspective of computation, I am interested in abstraction and internal representation (concept). An internal representation is an abstract model of things in the world reconstructed in the brain by integrating sensory input such as vision, tactile sensation, taste and internal receptor sensation. Models in the brain do not necessarily match those reconstructed using the standerd physical scale like the international system of units (SI base unit) because information is selected and weighted in the integration process. Namely, the world is biased.

My question is how social concepts such as 'friend', 'ethics', 'leader-follower', etc. emerge. Are they embodied? I am trying to identify the key features for the emergence of social concepts.
